Selling Books on NFJ

[home] - [NFJ FAQ]

Please follow the guidelines below.

If you wish to purchase a book.

There is basically only one rule for buyers:

Please be honest and pay what you owe to the sellers you purchase from.

Payments

All transactions are strictly between the buyer and seller. Whether the buyer pays upon receiving the books or pays beforehand is up to the seller. Please clarify with each other which you would prefer!

Postage

Generally, the buyer will pay the postage for any book(s) he/she purchases. The cheapest method is 4th-class book rate.

Miscellaneous

This list is built upon honesty. There have been very few incidences of dishonesty. Between buyers and sellers, there needs to be communication. Let each other know when you have put a package or check in the mail (i.e., Jane, I sent your package today). If a seller is busy and cannot get a package out to a buyer, please email the buyer and let him/her know, so as to avoid misunderstanding. Similarly, if a buyer has not been able to get a check/money order out, let the seller know you plan to pay him/her, but that you are having a difficult time. While I believe in the innate honesty of people, especially on the lists this sale is distributed to, there may be an occasional problem regarding payment or the receipt of a package. If you have a problem, let me know privately. If there are enough complaints, I will take some action.

Professional Booksellers

The prices of books sold through the booksale should be in compliance with the rules laid out in NFJ -- preferably no more than half the cover price. This list is not intended to be used by anyone hoping to make a profit. If professional booksellers are willing to sell their books at these prices, then they are welcome to submit lists to the booksale.
